Cyber Sunday was a professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by WWE The E-Fed, which took place on March 24, 2013 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. This was the second show in WWE's production lineage for the Wrestlemania event. It featured talent from the Raw brand. There were seven matches scheduled on the event's main show.
The event garnered 213,000 pay-per-view buys, up from 178,000 buys the previous year's event received. This year's event was headlined by Ciaran O'Donnell defending the WWE Championship against Tyler Chandler.
Background[]
Cyber Sunday featured professional wrestling matches involving different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds, plots, and storylines that played out on WWE's television programs. Wrestlers portrayed heels or faces as they followed a series of events that built tension, and culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches.
Event[]
In the opening match of the night Ignition successfully defended their WWE Tag Team Championships against Sheamus and Jessie Godderz after Sheamus turned on Godderz and gave him a Brogue Kick followed by Travis hitting him with Notorized for the win.
In the second match, Dolph Ziggler defeated James Storm, Matt Morgan, Braden Walker and Curt Hawkins in a Reverse battle royal, last eliminating Storm to become the new #1 Contender for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
