Production[]
Background[]
Halloween Havoc will feature professional wrestling matches involving different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds, plots, and storylines that play out on WWE's primary television program; RAW. Wrestlers portray heroes or villains as they follow a series of events that build tension, and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.
One of the main rivalries heading into Halloween Havoc is between Jake Anderson and John Cena beginning on the August 24, 2015 episode of Raw when the two men got into a confrontation that ended with Anderson challenging Cena to a match on the following episode of Raw for the European Championship that was currently being held by Anderson. Cena won the match and the championship. A week later during Cena's title defense against Seth Rollins, Anderson interfered and cost Cena the match and the championship before attacking Cena with a steel chair after the match where Anderson admitted that it was never about the title and that he wanted to put an end to the legacy of John Cena. The following week Cena managed to gain a measure of retribution against Anderson with an attack of his own. Anderson took it a step further on the September 28, 2015 episode of Raw when he held Cena's mother hostage, goading Cena into an I Quit match at the PPV promising not to harm his mother before kicking her in the head.
