Professional wrestling ladder match

The Money in the Bank ladder match is a professional wrestling ladder match held by WWE. The match can feature anywhere from five to ten participants, with the objective being to retrieve a briefcase that is suspended 20 feet above the ring. The briefcase contains a contract that guarantees a match for one of WWE's world titles (for the males), which include the WWE Championship, World Heavyweight Championship. As well as the WWE Women's Championship or the WWE Divas Championship, for the Divas. The briefcase became a weapon by the winners. The contract is valid for one year, and the briefcase holder—dubbed "Mr./Mrs. Money in the Bank"—can appear on any program and cash in the contract at the date, place, and time of his choosing. The briefcase may also be defended in matches, similar to how championships are defended. Six out of the nineteen winners have cashed in successfully and become either the WWE, World Heavyweight, Women's or Divas Champion.

The Money in the Bank ladder match was first contested in 2006. Since the match's inception, sixteen additional Money in the Bank ladder matches have been held annually at their pay-per-view event, WrestleMania, the most recent being held at WrestleMania XXIX, and all subsequent matches have been interpromotional. The first winner of the Money in the Bank ladder match was Triple H who won it at Wrestlemania 22. Triple H, The Miz and Adam Cole are the only men to have won two Money in the Bank Ladder matches while Adam Cole is the first and only to win consecutive Money in the Bank Ladder matches.

The most recent Money in the Bank match winners are Maxwell Jacob Friedman, who won the Men's Money in the Bank in 2022, and Deonna Purrazzo, who won the Women's Money in the Bank at the same event.
