New Year's Revolution (2014) is the eighth annual in WWE's production lineage for the New Years Revolution event. It will take place on January 12th, 2014 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It will be the first WWE pay-per-view in the 2014 line-up. The main events will be the annual Elimination Chamber matches.
Background[]
New Year's Revolution featured professional wrestling matches involving different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds, plots, and storylines that played out on WWE's television programs. Wrestlers portrayed heels or faces as they followed a series of events that built tension, and culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches.
On the final episode of Raw which also happened to be the Slammy Award edition that aired on December 16, 2013. Ciaran O'Donnell defeated Justin Gabriel in a Elimination Chamber qualifying match, thus becoming the first official entrant into the match other than the current champion, Shane Helms. On January 2, 2014 the rest of the RAW Elimination Chamber participants were announced as follows: Justin Gabriel, Matt Hardy, Daniel Bryan and Edge.
So far on the Smackdown side of things the Elimination Chamber participants have yet to be announced and will most likely be announced shortly before the PPV. They were later revealed on January 2, 2014 with Tyler Chandler, Sterling James Keenan, Heath Slater, Chuck Taylor and Wade Barrett set to challenge Chris Jericho.
