Royal Rumble (2021) is an upcoming professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by WWE. It will take place on January 10, 2021, at the London Stadium in London, England. It will be the sixteenth annual in WWE's production lineage for the Royal Rumble event. It will feature talent from both the Raw and SmackDown brand.

Royal Rumble will feature professional wrestling matches involving different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds, plots, and storylines that played out on WWE's primary and secondary television programs, Raw & SmackDown. Wrestlers portrayed heels or faces as they followed a series of events that built tension, and culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches.

On the Slammy Award edition of Monday Night Raw, a debate was held to determine who would challenge Chris Jericho for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble. Triple H wanted to be convinced on who should be the one who gets the opportunity. In the end Triple H ended up choosing both Jake Anderson and Montez Ford as the winners of the debate and that they would indeed challenge Jericho at the Royal Rumble in a Triple Threat match. Earlier in the night, Vanessa Borne was able to Beat the Clock and thus earned herself a shot at Lacey Evans' Women's Championship and will face her at the Royal Rumble. At Cyber Sunday, Ruby Riott won the SmackDown Women's Championship in a Fatal Four Way. Earlier on the Kickoff Show, Nikki Bella won a Battle Royal and after the fans voted that the winner would receive a shot at the SmackDown Women's Championship it was revealed that Riott would defend her title against Bella at the Royal Rumble. Another battle royal took place at Cyber Sunday where the Miz emerged victorious and the fans voted on the prize being a shot at the Universal Championship. It was revealed that Miz would get his opportunity at the Royal Rumble. Kane would defeat Shane Thorne in an Inferno match to win the Universal Championship and will defend his championship against the Miz.
