SummerSlam (2015) (also written as SummerSlammiversary 10) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by WWE The E-Fed that took place on August 30, 2015 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The event was the first since 2008 to be held outside of Los Angeles as Staples Center was the exclusive home for SummerSlam from 2009 to 2014. It was also the tenth annual SummerSlam event and was WWE's eighth pay-per-view event to take place in 2015.

Production[]

Background[]

SummerSlam featured professional wrestling matches involving different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds, plots, and storylines that play out on WWE's primary television programs; Raw and Smackdown. Wrestlers portray heroes or villains as they follow a series of events that build tension, and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.

On the August 17, 2015 episode of Raw, Dean Ambrose defeated Bobby Roode and Goldberg to become the #1 Contender for the WWE Championship and earn a match against Baron Corbin at SummerSlam meanwhile Roode became the #1 Contender for the WWE Intercontinental Championship having not been pinned. That same night Shane Helms approached Triple H about not having a match at the event and J&J Security suggested to Triple H that Helms either challenge Jake Anderson for the WWE European Championship or be added to the Intercontinental Championship match thus making it a Triple threat.

One of the main rivalries heading into SummerSlam is the rivalry between Wade Barrett and Corey Graves over their affection for Suicide. The two men have been attacking one another and first it was Barrett who ended up costing Graves the WWE Hardcore Championship before Graves later returned the favor and cost Barrett and Magnus the WWE Tag Team Championship at Unforgiven.
