Unforgiven (2016) is an upcoming professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by WWE. It will take place on July 10, 2016, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. It will be the sixth annual in WWE's production lineage for the Unforgiven event. It will feature talent from the Raw brand.
Background[]
Unforgiven will feature professional wrestling matches involving different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds, plots, and storylines that played out on WWE's primary television program, Raw. Wrestlers portrayed heels or faces as they followed a series of events that built tension, and culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches.
It was revealed on June 17, 2016 on WWE.com by Renee Young that the Board of Directors had made the announcement that Big Show would defend his newly won WWE Intercontinental Championship against former champion Magnus and that as per stipulation, Raw General Manager Brie Bella would be banned from ringside ensuring that there would be no outside interference whatsoever which was the case when Big Show defeated Magnus on the June 6, 2016 episode of Raw.
On June 18, 2016 it was revealed by Renee Young again that Seth Rollins had been reinstated as a Raw Superstar and would make his official in-ring return at Unforgiven. On June 22, 2016 it was revealed on WWE.com by Renee Young that Colt Cabana would defend the WWE Championship in a Six-man Hell in a Cell match. On the June 27, 2016 episode of Raw, Brie Bella revealed that the participants in the Six-man Hell in a Cell match would be Noam Dar, PJ Black, Johnny Gargano, Seth Rollins and the returning Dean Ambrose. It was also confirmed that Paige would defend her WWE Women's Championship against Brie Bella with both The Bullet Club and the entire roster being banned from ringside while also having Paige's PTO, RamPaige and Paige Turner being banned as well. Brie also named that if Paige loses she must kiss her feet.
