The WWE Divas Championship was the first-tier women's professional wrestling world championship in WWE on Saturday Night SmackDown; the second brand of the company.
Christy Hemme became the inaugural champion on December 6, 2008, when she won a open battle royal on an episode of Smackdown. The title was retired in 2018 and a brand-new WWE Women's Championship was then introduced and continued the lineage.
