The WWE Television Championship was the third-tier championship title in WWE The E-Fed on Saturday Night Smackdown; the second brand of the company. The first champion was MVP who won an open match at Survivor Series 2009 to become the inaugural champion. The final champion was Jack Swagger who defeated Zack Ryder to win the championship at the Bash at the Beach on July 25, 2010. Jack Swagger, Zack Ryder, Christian, Steve Austin, The Miz, Ted DiBiase, Pinkie Sanchez and MVP all share the record for most reigns with one each.
