The World Heavyweight Championship is the first-tier championship title for men in the WWE E-Fed federation on Friday Night SmackDown; the second brand of the company. The title was re-introduced on the May 3rd, 2024 episode of SmackDown when it was announced that the Universal Championship was being retired. The inaugural champion is JD McDonagh who initially won the Universal Championship after cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase on the April 26th, 2024 episode of SmackDown.
