WrestleMania 31 was the thirty-first annual WrestleMania professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE. It took place on March 22, 2015, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
It was the first WrestleMania event to be held in the San Francisco Bay Area and the sixth to be held in the state of California (2, VII, XII, 2000, and 21). It was the first WrestleMania to feature the new WWE logo.

WrestleMania 31 featured professional wrestling matches that involve wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds, plots, and storylines that play out on WWE's primary television program, Raw. Wrestlers will portray faces (heroes) or heels (villains) as they follow a series of events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.
At the Royal Rumble, Finn Bálor defeated Ciaran O'Donnell in a thrilling match to win the WWE Championship. Later that night Baron Corbin last eliminated Goldust to win the 2015 Royal Rumble match and earn himself a main event WWE Championship match at WrestleMania. It was then made official that Bálor would defend the title against Corbin. After Angelina Love defeated Paige to win her third WWE Women's Championship, Nikki Bella would win the 25 Diva Rumble match earning herself a shot at Love's championship at WrestleMania.
On the March 2, 2015 episode of Raw, Jake Anderson came out to the ring and called out Mick Foley. Anderson talked about how he idolized Foley when he was a child and looked up to him and that had since changed after what he had put him through the last number of months before Anderson challenged Foley to a match at WrestleMania. Foley would accept the challenge but not before announcing that it would be a Hardcore match. Anderson would accept the stipulation before Big Show proceeded to hit Foley with a KO punch that knocked Foley out. That same night four Divas Money in the Bank qualifying matches were held with the first four participants being: Danielle Moinet, Becky Lynch, Ivelisse Vélez and Sally Mason. Four more qualifying matches were scheduled for the March 9, 2015 episode of Raw to fill out the remaining spots.
